As part of my self (re)discovery, 2020 has been filled with self portraits. These photos were taken in Scotland and Belgium, always using natural light or even a streetlamp outside my bedroom window (see last photo). 
You don't have to hold a degree in psychology to see that I struggle with mental health. I thank life for that. And it also runs in my family. Admitting that depression might be inheritable — sorry to my behavior science's teacher, I do remember our debate and me saying that that would be impossible because 17 y/o me was so happy.

The thing is, we need more awareness around mental health. People need to know that it's okay if you're sad or blue or anxious most of the time. Most of all, they need to know that they are not alone.
